MOsaic Lust
We had the opportunity to have a workshop with byBORRE. The purpose was to make a textile through their, at the time, new system/platform called “Create”. We were assigned to different groups and in this case I worked with Ahmet Selcuk Dis, Olfa Rachdi and Eva Kirichenko. The idea behind this piece was to make a graphic textile in order to veer away from the company’s usual aesthetic to try something different with the platform that we were allowed to use. All of us had patterns we were working with at the time, therefore, we decided to find a common theme between all of them, an essance. This theme we all had in common was the topic of Lust. It was a fascinating topic that concerned both the positive aspects and the negatives. Taking both ends of the spectrum in mind, we created a “church window-like” textile that had two different faces to it. Dark purple representing the negative, and light pink the positive.
